DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SunLine Transit Agency is recruiting for the position of Paratransit Reservationist. This is a non-exempt position. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class. Answers in-person and by-telephone paratransit passenger inquiries about transportation services, fares, and Agency programs that accommodate special groups including senior citizens and the disabled. Makes service reservations for paratransit vehicles; monitors existing and pre-scheduled rides to ensure efficient usage of vehicles and prevent over-booking; communicates with dispatch as needed to estimate arrival times and provide driver assistance regarding route information and usage of mobility devices and/or escorts. Operates telephone, computer terminals, keyboard equipment, digital cameras and other standard office equipment required to communicate with customers. Completes call logs, enters data and runs predefined reports for supervisors. May provide backup to the Paratransit Dispatcher. Takes, records and answers customer suggestions, requests and complaints; directs passenger concerns to dispatch and follows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and one year of experience interacting with customers via telephones or other media devices, such as telemarketer, switchboard operator, receptionist, etc.
